Welcome to Work 4 a Living Paarl!
We are a non-profit Company whose main priority is to help unemployed people in the Drakenstein area to get employment. We do this by preparing our students for employment and identifying employers who value the qualities in Work 4 a Living students.
These are the steps being followed when you join the WORK 4 A LIVING family:
What We Can Do for You
- Register for our 14 day Job Excellence Programme in preparation for the world of work.
- The Job Excellence Programme aims to destroy the Poverty mindset and entitlement that keep our communities hostage.
- Students then have the option to then enrol in the E Café to do online courses to make their CV’s more attractive. We have about 31 online courses to choose from.
- While the program is running I, (Russel van Sitters), as the facilitator go out to meet with employers to source vacancies they might have. When successful, I make the vacancies available to only the best students in the classes. Meaning they do not have to compete against thousands for one job, making it easier for them to gain employment. Only the best is then released into the working world.
- A Certificate of Excellence is the testimony of your transformation and eager participation in the program.
After Job Excellence students also have a choice to access the following opportunities:
- To join a formation called the Creative Collective where they are trained to make bracelets and costume jewellery and start their own business.
- Join the SERV hospitality course and be trained for the Hospitality industry.
- Join a Sewing Course at Tiffany’s Community Centre and stand a chance to get employment at the Genuine Connection factory in Paarl.
- Enrol in the Business 101 course with the aim of becoming an entrepreneur. They will then be mentored by seasoned business men to ensure their businesses do not fail.
Our Mission:
- We have a limited number of bursaries available to extremely needy but driven students so that they might access the E CAFÉ.
-
We also subsidise 90% of the cost per student for the Job Excellence Programme. With the result that the student is only responsible for paying R150 for the programme.
-
Our mission is to address the unemployment challenge in the Drakenstein area by changing the way our people think and equip them with a positive mindset about themselves and the world of work.

YEBONEERS YOUTH OPPORTUNITY EXPO
Work for a Living recently attended the abovementioned event at the Paarl Townhall on 9 October 2025. It was arranged by the Yeboneers. This is a group of young people who finished school and were in possession of Matric Qualification.
These young souls are placed in companies for a period of a month. However, only for a month after which they are unemployed. This is where Work for a Living steps in offering a host of opportunities. Work for a Living is in the process of forging a relationship with the Yeboneers in Paarl, Franschhoek, Wellington and Stellenbosch area.
It was a hugely successful morning with more than 600 people visiting the Work for a Living stall.
